Home for the Summer (Kinda…)

So I finished my exams, I handed in that last killer essay, gruellingly packed up my room and headed back to London for the summer… Time for relaxation and the long-awaited joy of staying in one place, right?  Nope, not at all.

As I mentioned in my post about my summer worries, I applied for a lot of opportunities for this summer that I didn’t think I’d get, and then I ended up getting them all…  So my summer is going to be a lot busier than I expected.  In fact, on the day that this post comes out, I’m heading to Chicago in 2 days!  I’m finally living my wanderlust fantasy of jetting off to countries that I’ve never been and being able to vlog the experience (Keep up to date with my vlogs here).  And don’t get me wrong, now that the initial “OMG I’M SO BUSY ALL THE TIME WHEN WILL I REST” panic has subsided, I’m genuinely excited!  So, I thought I’d give you an update of what to expect on this blog and my channel for the next month or so…

June is the travel month… I’m really branching into the travel blogger/vlogger content that I have only dreamed of producing up until this point.  My Youtube channel will consist of packing videos (One trip I’m taking a suitcase and one I’m only taking hand luggage so… Different situations), travel vlogs, and maybe a chatty Tuesday or 2 about travelling with friends.  And here, over on my blog, I’ll be starting a new touristy series as well as some posts related to travel necessities, mental health while travelling and how I managed to travel within my budget (Because I am a student and I’m not exactly made of money…)  There will, of course, be my regular supply of personal posts and developments of my thoughts on other topics, because we all know that I’m terrible at restricting myself to one niche, but I’m excited to incorporate a lot more travel (Can you tell?  I can.)

However, straight after June I am depart from the world of travel and holidays, and arrive at the world of work for July.  I begin July with a 2 week internship at a well known newspaper publication (I’ll probably tell you where?  I don’t know, I’m gonna check with them first).   Therefore, a lot of my content will be based around finding internships, what I learnt and figuring out the dreaded “smart casual”.

Within those, I also have some theatre reviews (I have 3 press nights lined up between now and August) and my new book club series with two other amazing bloggers.  I am very excited to feel inspired again and have a bunch of content brimming at my fingertips (I do, however, have a post coming Monday about my recent lack of motivation, so don’t get confused – that was pre-scheduled).  This summer is hectic, and I was kind of worried about it, but honestly now I’m ready to embark on this fun and exciting new journey.

What are you doing this summer?  Let me know in the comments!

Lots of love,

Jas xx
