Dear Contacts Lenses,
I’d like to call you a friend but honestly I don’t think there’s anything I’ve ever had more of a love hate relationship with… Yes, you support me when I need you to, and I can’t deny that I need you in my life, but you have to admit you can be ridiculously annoying.
We have some good times; every so often you stay in my eye on the first try, feel invisible all day and leave me with nothing but good things to say. However, on the bad days… you’re bad. You take 5,6,7, tries to get in my eye and stay there, you’ll itch and you’ll sting to the point where I have to remove you and try again with a fresh pair, and I haven’t even gotten started on the stress you cause me throughout the day. Remember the time one of you fell out in the middle of the day and I walked around half blind? Oh, you don’t remember the particular time? Well it’s happened on at least 10 separate occasions so you really should. You misbehave and fall out with me and I get to the point where I can’t stand you… but a new day rolls around, and there I am again, back where I started, letting you back into my life.
It get’s to the point where I just can’t be bothered, and yes we’ve taken our fair share of breaks and I’ve embraced my glasses for prolonged periods of time, but somehow, we always end up back together, no matter how many problems we have. You make me a better person: hurt my ears less, provide me with more freedom of movement and keep my face clear, and I’d be lying if I said I never wanted you. The truth is, I’d longed for you for years, waited for the day when we could finally be together (and I could finally figure out how to put you in my eyes), and sometimes I forget that fight and take you for granted.
The truth is, when I think about it, you’re actually pretty amazing. You seem tiny, flimsy, so easily broken, and yet you can replace my big heavy glasses with ease and grace. You let me live my fantasy of perfect vision and I will be eternally grateful for that. You’re not perfect, and I can’t deny that you have your problems, but let’s be real, we all do. So I guess all I have left to say is thank you.
Hope you guys liked this… It was very different for me, but I’m using August to test out new content so tell me what you think!
Lots of love,
Jas xx
Haha aww I love this post! I don’t wear contact lenses myself but my sister does so I can relate to your struggle!

I really enjoyed this post! And it came at the right time for me, I’ve been thinking about trying out contacts for a while now but I just can’t decide!

Haha thank you! Contacts can be a nuisance but they definitely do come in handy, I’d suggest giving them a go

Jasmine, this is hilarious! I wear contacts so I completely relate! I have definitely been there walking around half blind. At the end of the day though, they are pretty amazing. So, I will be there with you, continuing to be a conflicted contact wearer haha!

Omg, honestly this is me! I love this post, I can totally relate. Sometimes it literally feels like its taken 27454631 times to get them into my eyes and I hate that sinking feeling you get when you find that you have lost one of your lenses…. They are indeed a pain but I do love them! I think this content is great, I’ve never really seen anything like it before and I’m excited to see more!
