Bullet Journal Update: What Have I Added?

Around 6 months ago I started a bullet journal and did a post all about what was inside it.  6 months later I still love it and use it for blogging and uni, however since then I’ve added to it and used it to further my experiences.  Therefore, I figured this was the perfect time to give you a little update!

The Basics

I wrote this in my last post but I figured that I’d rehash it just in case you haven’t seen my old one.  Nothing has changed, the products I’ve used have left me satisfied for the last 6 months, so I strongly recommend these as a basic starter!  I use…

  • The LEUCHTTURM 1917 Notebook Medium (A5) in Grey – I think these might be designed for bullet journalling?  They have numbered and dotted pages as well as an index page so they’re pretty perfect and more affordable than the specific “Bullet” versions Leuchtturm make.

  • Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens in a pack of 4– These black pens are a little pricey but they don’t run and after 6 months they’re nowhere near running out.  In the pack you get 4 different styles: a really thin one that I use for writing (S), a medium sized one that I use for drawing lines and stuff (M), a felt-tip sized one that I use for outlines (F) and a brush tip one that I use for headings (B).

  • Staedtler 334 Triplus Fineliner Superfine Point Pens in pack of 20 – I already owned these (because I swear by them and have been repurchasing these for years) but I strongly recommend them to keep your journal colourful and help with colour-coding things (I colour-code my whole life to be honest).

  • Any Clear 30cm Ruler – Again, I already owned this, you can purchase them pretty much anywhere, they just help keep your bullet journal neat and your lines clean.  You can get coloured ones and stuff, but clear ones are generally better because you can see what you’re doing better.

Using it for Travelling

countries.jpg

I’ve had a real obsession with travelling recently, and I wanted to be able to document that in my bullet journal.  Therefore, I printed out mini maps of each continent, cut them out and stuck them into pages of my journal.  Now every time I visit a country I can colour in the country and mark the year that I went to, to record how much of the world I’ve actually seen.

I’m hoping that this will motivate me to explore more of the world and also provide me with a visual representation of where I’ve been.  Right now it looks quite cute and colourful (Europe in particular) and I can’t wait to colour in more!

Using it for Social Media

hashtags

I mentioned in my recent favourites post that I’ve been really into Instagram recently, and have been looking to put more effort into my blog Instagram account and grow my following.  I’ve learnt over time that hashtags are a big part of that and I’m rubbish at thinking of stuff to hashtag, so I researched the best hashtags for different categories of blogging pictures and wrote them out for reference in my journal.  The categories include hashtags for:

  • Lifestyle
  • Beauty
  • Fashion
  • Crafts
  • Writing
  • Travel
  • Food

I tried to pick anything that I thought I may post about at some point, considering my blog doesn’t have a specific niche.  Now, when I post a picture I’m able to refer to this page and easily pick the hashtags that I think will work, and I would strongly recommend a page like this to other bloggers.

Using it for Health

smoothies

I want to get more into using my bullet journal for meal plans and all round healthy eating, and thanks to my smoothie review post at the beginning of the week, I started with smoothie recipes!  Here I have cute written out smoothie recipes complete with badly drawn pictures, because it’s obviously all about presentation…

This really cuts down time if I’m making morning smoothies because it always takes me ages to remember what goes in them, but here it’s all laid out for me.

And there you have it, everything I’ve added to my bullet journal since February!  I still have everything mentioned in my last post, and it’s all come in handy – I use the blogging calendar constantly as well as the stats page!  Do you have a bullet journal?  Tell me what you put in yours!

Lots of love,

Jas xx

I’m trying to get into bullet journaling myself, and I think I’ll be stealing your hashtag idea! It’s going to be so convenient having them all in one place instead of having to think of them on the spot every single time. I’m also definitely going to reference back to this post when the time comes to buy new bujo supplies.
